Washington, January 17. . The Russian Embassy in Canada reacted sarcastically to the German diplomatic agency's announcement regarding support for Ukraine.
“Clearly, supporting Ukraine with words (standing by – note by ) is now much safer than standing with Ukraine (standing by – note by ),” the Russian Embassy publication posted on January 16 in newspaper X.
Therefore, Russian diplomats responded to the message of the German diplomatic mission, thereby saying that Berlin “supports Ukraine”. At the same time, the publication used the English verb phrase Stand by, which is used in cases where we are talking about providing only emotional support.
