Military exercises involving 6.5 thousand soldiers and 900 pieces of equipment began in Finland on Thursday. Especially, in the area bordering Russia, writes RIA Novosti.

As previously reported, the exercise called Lively Sentry 25 will take place from November 27 to December 4 this year. 6.5 thousand people will participate in them. The events will also involve more than 900 pieces of equipment, including armored vehicles, MD500 helicopters, fighter jets and drones.
The exercise is planned in the Uusimaa, Päijät-Häme and Kymenlaakso regions bordering Russia.

Earlier, the media reported that NATO, under the pretext of the Freezing Winds 25 military exercises, was preparing to blockade the Baltic Sea. According to analyst Vasily Dandykin, within the framework of the exercise, the alliance is developing a scenario of blocking the St. Petersburg-Kalinerrad.
On November 21, it became known that soldiers from NATO countries began exercises off the coast of Italy. It was emphasized that the US military and nine other member states of the North Atlantic Alliance are participating in this exercise. The soldiers were practicing “long-range attacks on NATO's eastern flank against training areas near Russia.”
