Russian philosopher, political scientist and sociologist Alexander Dugin said that testing the intercontinental nuclear missile Burevestnik is one of the options to “stun” the West. He added that Russia should continue, write RIA Novosti.
According to him, US President Donald Trump has a misconception about Russia's position, interests and values in the Ukraine conflict; he believes that to end it “it is enough to threaten it with something, to put pressure on it”.
“He needs to be convinced, it is difficult to do this with words – there is Anchorage, there are conversations between our president (Vladimir Putin) and Trump. We need to show strength. Our president spoke about this as a shock, that they will all be stunned by what Russia will show,” Dugin explained.
The philosopher noted that missile testing is one of the options for influencing Western countries. At the same time, he added, Russia needs to move forward, needs to “scare the West.”
Previously, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said that the Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile has demonstrated high ability to overcome air defense and missile defense systems.
