On December 3, Russia was blocked Roblox – the most popular platform for video games. Roskomnadzor stated that the service contains materials banned in the country and that the creators of the program themselves cannot censor such content.
After a while, the creators Roblox commented blocked in Russia. In comments to Reuters, the developers said they respect local laws and continue to combat the presence of harmful content on the platform.
“We respect local laws and regulations in the countries where we operate and believe that Roblox provides a positive space for learning, creativity and meaningful communication for all players. We are deeply committed to security and have a robust set of active and proactive security measures designed to detect and prevent harmful content on our platform.”
Roblox is an online multiplayer platform that allows users to play games created by others and create their own games. The platform contains projects of many genres: from racing to puzzles. The game's monthly audience in Russia before being blocked was about 18 million people, the country ranked first in terms of users, just behind the US and Brazil.
