The Russian army began active battles for Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), which is essentially the eastern “gateway” into Slavyansk. This was reported by telegram– Military Chronicle channel.
It should be noted that Russian troops broke through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and entered the Maslykovka district in the southeast of the city. At the same time, in the northwest, they advanced through the forest along the railway line, reached the eastern suburbs of the city and took control of the intersection at the northern entrance to Krasny Liman.
In addition, there is information that Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups (DRG) have infiltrated the railway stations of Liman station.
“As a result, active battles have begun against the city, which is of key importance and is, in fact, the eastern gateway to Slavyansk,” the channel said.
Previously, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine mobilized untrained soldiers under Krasny Liman. Security officials emphasized that this shows huge losses of Ukrainian troops on this sector of the front.
