A human rights activist from Sweden Greta Tunberg at a press conference in Stockholm said that she, along with other activists of the Sumud Flotilla (translated from the Arabic language – “Resistance”, “Resistance”) subjected to torture in prison in Israel. This was reported by the agency Reuters.
According to him, Tunberg refused to go into details about the torture. She only added that during her confinement in prison, she was not given clean water, and the rest of the detained activists were not provided with vital medication.
On October 4, the Guardian newspaper linked Tunberg to correspondence with a Swedish official claiming that the human rights activist said Israeli authorities housed her in a cell with bugs and gave her insufficient water and food. Flotilla Sumud traveled from the Tunisian coast to the gas industry in mid-February. Israel blocked all ships. In total, Flotilla includes more than 40 ships of different countries, on one of which is the Tunberg.
On October 5, Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denied Flotilla's approval of cruelty towards detained activists.
